"When it comes to folk music, you can't get any better than Steve Turner." - Midlands Folk Monthly

Steve TurnerSteve Turner is a pioneer of highly sophisticated English concertina song accompaniments, stretching the boundaries of traditional forms, with one of the best voices in the business. He is a multi-instrumentalist, who also accompanies himself on the mandolin and tenor banjo.

Steve Turner turned professional in 1979. After a break he returned to the scene in 2004. Nine albums and thousands of gigs later he remains one of the UK's finest entertainers, performing in folk clubs and at festivals at home and abroad.

He's toured Australia and the USA as well as playing all across the UK.

Furious fancies "On A Host of Furious Fancies, Turner’s tenth solo outing, the concertina is not merely an accompaniment; it is a second voice. It provides a platform of warm, shifting drones that feel as sturdy and weathered as a ship’s hull." - Folk Roundabout.

“For me in terms of song accompaniment, he is the foremost concertina player of his generation - the Master." – Pete Heywood, Living Tradition

Steve's Showreel Compilation

"Steve Turner is known for his amazingly inventive English concertina accompaniments to well-sung songs." - Tykes-Stirrings

"I promise you, Steve is just as good in live performance as he is on CD." - Mardles (East Anglia)

"Here is a brilliant artist at the top of his form. The finest concertina accompaniments that you will hear anywhere." - Folk Diary, Sussex

"Fantastically assured. Turner's ability to hold the audience rapt as his stories unfold is a delight." - Living Tradition
